Forum Says Tesla Will Run Three Public Megacharging Sites; Two Oakland Projects Were Already in Development

Forum Mobility says Tesla will operate public Megacharging at three California electric-truck depot projects — FM Francis in Ontario and FM Adeline and FM Coliseum in Oakland — as part of a four-depot construction plan Forum says will add 30 MW of heavy-duty charging capacity.¹

But the project list is not new in the same way as the operator arrangement. Forum's current network map already labels Adeline and Coliseum as in development, while Santa Fe, the fourth depot in the Sept. 17 plan, had been separately announced before this release.¹²³ The useful new pieces are the named Tesla operating role, Forum's company-reported commercial demand at Santa Fe and added Tesla MCS hardware at an existing Forum site.¹⁴

What changed versus Forum's prior project state

A comparison of Forum's Sept. 17 announcement with its own existing project pages separates the new operating and commercial details from locations that were already public.

That distinction matters because a new operator arrangement is different from four newly revealed project locations. Adeline and Coliseum were already visible in Forum's development pipeline, and Santa Fe already had a public project description.²³

The Ontario naming remains deliberately unresolved. Forum's new release uses FM Francis, while its current map uses FM Ontario. Without a Forum source directly connecting those names, treating one as a rename or continuation of the other would be an inference, not a verified project history.¹²

The 330-Semi figure is a reservation and offtake signal, not a delivery count

Forum says Santa Fe has contracted fleet offtake tied to more than 330 Tesla Semi reservations. It separately describes its customer base as 25 carriers with contracted capacity and customer reservations for more than 330 Semis.¹

Those numbers indicate company-reported commercial commitments around the charging buildout. They do not establish that more than 330 Tesla Semis have been delivered, deployed or are currently using Forum chargers. The Sept. 17 announcement also does not make the four depot projects open sites merely by describing the construction plan.¹

For readers tracking whether megawatt-scale truck charging is moving beyond infrastructure proposals, the combination is still notable: Forum is naming a charging operator for three public Megacharging locations while also reporting contracted demand associated with a large Tesla Semi reservation pool. The evidence supports that narrower commercial signal, not an in-service fleet count.

Harbor gets two Tesla MCS units without becoming a fifth new depot

Forum also says it added two Tesla MCS Megachargers at FM Harbor in Long Beach.¹ Harbor is a different state from the four-depot construction tranche: Forum's current project material already lists Harbor as operational, and its Harbor page describes a 44-charger site with 9 MW of power.²⁴

That makes the Harbor disclosure a hardware addition at an operating depot rather than another newly announced location. It also gives the Sept. 17 update two distinct deployment states: planned/developing sites where Forum says Tesla will operate public Megacharging, and an already-operating Forum depot receiving two Tesla MCS units.

The next material milestones are more concrete than another project announcement: groundbreaking and energization, actual public opening dates, pricing and access rules, a source that resolves the FM Francis/FM Ontario identity, and delivered or in-service truck counts that can replace reservation figures.
