Lucid is recruiting a new Manager, Partner Technical Support in Fremont to build support infrastructure for its autonomous-driving business partners, including a system intended to provide 24/7 technical escalation. Lucid's current company jobs surface lists the opening, while matching reproductions of the recruiting description say the manager will own the end-to-end partner-support strategy and call the position a new role within Lucid.123
That is a more specific signal than another generic autonomy hiring post. The job description assigns the manager responsibility for escalation and incident management, building a support team, setting support processes and metrics, helping validate technical instructions, and making repair-or-replacement judgments on vehicle components.23
It does not establish that a 24/7 support operation is already staffed or live. The posting describes the function Lucid wants the new manager to build.
What Lucid means by partner support
A separate current Partner Technical Support Specialist listing, reproduced from Lucid recruiting copy, describes partners as outside organizations using Lucid vehicles and technology for their own platforms. The specialist role includes technical assistance, escalated case handling, partner training, remote or on-site data collection, and coordination between Lucid engineers and partner engineers.4
Together, the two listings point to an operating layer between Lucid's vehicle engineering organization and external autonomous-driving programs: someone has to receive difficult cases, route technical problems, document fixes, prepare instructions and keep partner engineers connected to the right Lucid teams.
The reviewed job descriptions do not name Uber, Nuro, Hertz or Oro Mobility.234 That distinction matters because Lucid already has a much more visible autonomous-driving program with Uber and Nuro, but the evidence here does not establish that these exact jobs are assigned to that partnership.
Lucid's robotaxi program is already much further along than a hiring signal
Separately, Lucid reported on Aug. 4 that its Uber/Nuro robotaxi program had nearly 100 vehicles in active testing and validation across the San Francisco Bay Area and Houston. The company also said it had begun delivering production-validation Lucid Gravity vehicles to Nuro and that the project would sit inside the dedicated Lucid Technologies business unit.5
Lucid and Uber expanded their announced commitment in April to at least 35,000 Lucid vehicles for future global robotaxi service.6 Lucid, Nuro and Uber have said they expect the first commercial service in the Bay Area later in 2026, with production and launch timing still subject to validation.7
None of those public milestones makes the partner identity in the new job descriptions known. The most that can be said from the current evidence is that Lucid is recruiting technical-support infrastructure for autonomous-driving business partners while it separately develops a large public robotaxi program.
There is also an important division of labor around that public program. Uber and Hertz announced in April that Hertz affiliate Oro Mobility would handle day-to-day vehicle asset management for the Lucid/Nuro fleet, including charging, maintenance, repairs, cleaning and depot staffing.8 Lucid's new recruiting description is instead centered on technical escalation, partner support and engineering coordination. It should not be read as evidence that Lucid is taking over Oro's announced fleet-management role.
The next stronger confirmation would be a Lucid job page or company statement naming the partner served by this support function, a filled-role or organizational announcement, or a commercial deployment milestone. For now, the openings establish what Lucid is recruiting to build — not that the 24/7 operation is already running or that robotaxi launch timing has changed.
