Rivian’s September offers change the math in opposite directions for different R1 shoppers. On listed new 2026 R1T and R1S Dual configurations, Rivian now advertises financing as low as 2.99% APR for 60 months, down from 3.99% APR for 60 months in its directly preceding Aug. 12-31 offer.12
For leases, Rivian has replaced its Aug. 12-31 $3,000 contribution for Tri Max only with a $1,500 contribution that applies to a broader list of eligible Dual and Tri configurations.34 That means the September contribution is newly available on listed Dual builds that the Aug. 12-31 offer excluded, while the contribution for an eligible Tri Max lease is $1,500 smaller than it was under that immediately preceding offer.34
Dual financing gets a one-point advertised rate cut
Rivian’s September Dual offer covers listed 2026 R1T and R1S Dual Standard, Dual Large, Dual Large with Power Upgrade, Dual Max and Dual Max with Power Upgrade configurations. The 2.99% rate is an “as low as” promotional APR for very well-qualified U.S. buyers, not a rate every applicant is guaranteed to receive.1
The company’s closed Aug. 12-31 Dual offer covered the same listed Dual configuration families at an advertised rate as low as 3.99% for 60 months.2 Comparing those two Rivian offers, the promotional APR is one percentage point lower in September. Rivian’s stated payment factor also falls from $18.44 per month per $1,000 financed in the Aug. 12-31 offer to $17.99 per month per $1,000 financed in September.12
The current offer requires buyers to order and obtain approved financing between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30, 2026, and take delivery by Sept. 30. Credit approval, vehicle availability and other terms still apply.1
The lease contribution is broader, but Tri Max gets less
Rivian’s September lease offer provides a $1,500 contribution toward the amount due at signing on listed 2026 R1T and R1S Dual Standard, Dual Large and Dual Max configurations, including listed Power Upgrade variants, as well as Tri Max.3 The offer is subject to Rivian’s stated credit, inventory, geography and timing restrictions, with ordering and approved lease financing required during September and delivery by Sept. 30.3
That is a different structure from Rivian’s immediately preceding Aug. 12-31 offer. Rivian had offered $3,000 toward qualifying leases on listed 2026 R1T and R1S Tri Max vehicles and expressly excluded other configurations during that period.4 September therefore opens a contribution to listed Dual configurations that did not qualify for the Aug. 12-31 bonus, but cuts the contribution in half for an otherwise eligible Tri Max lease.34
Rivian’s own published lease examples make the Tri Max change more concrete, though they should not be read as quotes for every customer. For the same listed R1T Tri Max vehicle price and options, Rivian’s 36-month example moves from $1,559 per month with $6,454 due at signing in the Aug. 12-31 offer to $1,629 per month with $8,024 due at signing in September.34 The corresponding R1S Tri Max example moves from $1,599 per month and $6,494 due at signing to $1,669 per month and $8,064 due at signing.34
In both examples, that is a $70 monthly increase and $1,570 more due at signing. Those figures are arithmetic comparisons of Rivian’s published examples, not a claim that every Tri Max lessee will see the same change.34
Tri financing did not get a new September cut
Rivian is also advertising 1.99% APR for 60 months on eligible 2026 R1 Tri Max vehicles in September, but that rate is unchanged from the company’s Aug. 12-31 Tri financing offer.56 It should not be treated as another September rate reduction.
There is one wrinkle in Rivian’s current lease page: its heading says the $1,500 offer is for leases of 24 or 30 months, while the detailed terms say 24 or 36 months and the examples use 36 months.3 Because the page conflicts with itself, the exact eligible lease-duration wording remains unresolved here rather than choosing one version as definitive.
Rivian also says its September offers cannot be combined with other promotions unless the company permits it, and the offers remain subject to eligibility, availability and other stated conditions.135
