Tesla said on September 10 that Cybertruck and Powerwall 3 can now power a home together.12 Five days later, Tesla's own public guidance still gives owners materially different answers about whether that combination is currently available.
Tesla's Powerwall documentation lists Powershare-capable Cybertruck vehicles as a source of additional energy capacity for Powerwall 3.3 But Tesla's dedicated Powershare support page, rechecked September 15, says Powershare is currently not available for home energy systems that include Powerwall and says Powerwall configurations will be enabled through an over-the-air update.4
Those two current Tesla surfaces do not provide one consistent availability answer. ATC can verify that Tesla made the September 10 Powerwall 3 integration announcement and that its Powerwall material reflects Powershare-capable vehicles; the public sources reviewed here do not establish universal current enablement for every otherwise-compatible Powerwall 3 home or account.3412
Tesla's current pages point in different directions
The conflict is not just between an old article and a new launch post. Tesla's current Powerwall support material places Powershare-capable Cybertruck vehicles alongside Powerwall 3 Expansion units as a way to add energy capacity.3 The separate Powershare support page still gives the opposite operational guidance for homes that already include Powerwall: it says the feature is not available yet and that owners can install the needed equipment now to be ready for a future OTA enablement.4
Tesla's dated August 17 Powershare explainer also remains public with future-tense wording, saying Powershare Home Backup "will soon" support Powerwall.5 That page predates the September 10 announcement, so it establishes Tesla's earlier stated status; it does not resolve which current owner-facing instruction controls after the announcement.
The September 10 statement itself is clear about Tesla's intended Powerwall 3 capability. Specialist reports reproducing Tesla's public Cybertruck-account statement quote the company saying Powerwall 3 and Cybertruck can now power a house together and that the pairing can extend home backup by more than three days.12 Those reports also reproduce Tesla's statement that Powerwall 2 and Powerwall+ compatibility is planned for later in 2026.12
What the checked public record does not provide is a reconciled Tesla compatibility page that lets ATC turn that announcement into an unqualified claim that every Powerwall 3 site can use the feature now. The unresolved point is current account/site availability, not whether Tesla made the announcement.
Home backup and grid support remain separate
The documentation conflict concerns Powershare Home Backup with Powerwall. It should not be read as evidence that combined Cybertruck-and-Powerwall participation in Tesla's grid programs is available.
Tesla's Powershare support page separately says co-optimization of Powershare with Powerwall for Grid Support is not supported at this time.4 That limitation remains distinct from the question of whether a given Powerwall 3 home can use Cybertruck for outage backup.
As of September 15, the most defensible owner-facing answer is therefore narrower than either an unqualified available now or not launched label: Tesla announced Cybertruck + Powerwall 3 home-backup integration, while its own current public guidance still conflicts on present Powerwall-system availability.3412
