Green and Smart Mobility, the electric taxi operator branded Green SM, plans to deploy fleets in the United States by the end of 2026, a company spokesperson told Reuters. The same disclosure covered Sweden and the Netherlands.1
That is a company target, not a completed U.S. launch. Green SM told Reuters that its initial U.S. and European operations are planned around company-owned vehicles and employed drivers, with non-employees expected to be incorporated into its platform model later.1
Green SM says its U.S. launch would start fleet-first
The planned setup means Green SM is not describing an initial U.S. entry built only around independent drivers supplying their own cars.1 But Reuters' report does not specify how many vehicles or employees the U.S. operation would start with.1
Green SM's current company site says its mobility services use VinFast electric vehicles.2 That makes the planned U.S. fleet another potential commercial channel for VinFast if Green SM carries out the rollout, but the reviewed evidence does not establish a U.S.-specific VinFast volume or model mix.32
The million-EV framework is global, not a U.S. order
VinFast disclosed in a June 8 SEC filing that it and GSM signed a framework agreement in May covering approximately one million EVs and four million e-scooters for GSM's global ride-hailing, leasing and mobility platforms between 2026 and 2030.3
That large figure has an important limit: VinFast said actual quantities, pricing and delivery schedules are to be determined through later purchase agreements.3 The filing does not assign one million vehicles to the United States, establish a fixed U.S. delivery commitment or identify which VinFast models Green SM would use there.3
The fresh U.S. timing comes from Reuters' direct company interview.1 The article therefore treats the year-end timetable and operating model as Green SM's stated plan rather than as an already completed market entry.
What the reviewed sources still do not specify
The sources reviewed for this story do not specify Green SM's first U.S. launch market, initial U.S. fleet size, U.S. vehicle model mix or a commercial start date more precise than the company's end-of-2026 target.132 The public evidence reviewed also does not establish completed operating authorization.12
Those limits matter because a stated rollout plan and a global supply framework are not the same thing as active U.S. commercial service. The evidence supports Green SM's attributed plan to enter the U.S. by year-end; it does not establish that paid U.S. rides have begun.1
