Windrose Is Shifting Its ‘Centre of Gravity’ to Antwerp — CEO Wants Local Partners to Run More of the U.S. Market

Windrose still lists Aertssen + Windrose assembly in Tacoma and Savannah; Han did not disclose a U.S. stake size, buyer or completed ownership transfer.

Windrose Technology founder and CEO Wen Han said September 4 that the electric-truck company is shifting its “centre of gravity” to Europe, with Windrose Park Antwerp becoming its main site for assembly, parts logistics and global R&D. In the same statement, Han said Windrose wants local partners and investors to “take a larger position” and run the U.S. and China markets closer to customers while the company concentrates technology and logistics in Europe.1

That is a strategy statement, not a disclosed sale of Windrose’s U.S. business. Han did not identify a U.S. investor, give a stake size or say a completed ownership or governance transfer had occurred.1 Windrose’s current manufacturing page still lists “Aertssen + Windrose” assembly in Tacoma and Savannah, while a separate company partnership page says it plans Class 8 assembly with Aertssen Logistics USA in Rincon, Georgia, and Tacoma, Washington.23

The new part is the operating hierarchy, not Antwerp itself

Antwerp has been part of Windrose’s public manufacturing plan for months. Port of Antwerp-Bruges announced the Windrose concession on January 29, describing the project as the company’s first European flagship and saying it would include electric-truck assembly and R&D.4

Windrose’s current Antwerp page now calls the site the most important location in its network and says the company’s centre of gravity and global R&D are based there.5 The September 4 statement adds a clearer division of responsibilities: Han says Europe should hold more of Windrose’s technology, logistics and R&D center, while local partners and investors take a larger role operating the U.S. and China markets.1

For the U.S., that is materially different from saying Windrose is leaving. The current company pages reviewed by the newsroom continue to present U.S. assembly with Aertssen, and neither page says the U.S. assembly plan has been canceled.23 Those pages also do not establish current customer-truck production volume or a precise operating-start date at the listed U.S. locations.23

Windrose has already reported limited U.S. customer activity. Reuters reported in April, based on a Windrose statement, that the company delivered its first long-haul electric heavy truck in the U.S. on April 1 through a U.S. partner.6 That milestone does not establish the scale of Windrose’s current U.S. operations, but it gives the new partner-led strategy a concrete North American context.

“Headquartered in Antwerp” is not a September 4 relocation claim

Windrose’s current About Us page describes the company as “headquartered in Antwerp,” lists Antwerp, Belgium as its headquarters, and depicts Windrose Holdings Limited NV as its Belgium parent company and Windrose Technology Inc as its U.S. operations entity.7

That current description should not be read as proof that Windrose moved its legal or global headquarters on September 4. Belgium’s official Crossroads Bank for Enterprises says Windrose Holdings Limited was formed in December 2024 and has had its current Antwerp registered seat since July 3, 2025.8 The registry separately says Windrose Technology Antwerp was formed in April 2024 and has had its current Antwerp registered seat since December 17, 2025.9

Those dates predate Han’s September 4 strategy statement, and the current Windrose page reviewed by the newsroom does not provide a change history showing when its Antwerp-headquarters wording first appeared.789 The supportable fresh development is therefore narrower: Windrose is explicitly placing more of its global operating center in Europe and says it wants a larger local-partner and investor role in the U.S., while its current public pages still show a U.S. assembly plan with Aertssen.123
