EV Recall Lookup

Search official NHTSA recall campaigns by model year, make, and model, with campaign summaries, consequences, and remedies.

Official data

Search recalls by model

This model-level search is not VIN-specific. NHTSA's VIN search remains the final check for an individual vehicle.

Model-level result

Select a year, make, and model to search official NHTSA recall campaigns.

Source: NHTSA recalls data. For an individual vehicle, use the official VIN recall lookup.

Methodology

How the official data is handled

The lookup sends the selected model year, make, and model to NHTSA's official recalls-by-vehicle API and displays the returned campaigns without converting complaint or investigation records into recalls.

An empty successful response is shown differently from an unavailable upstream service.

Important assumptions

  • A model-level search is not VIN-specific and cannot establish whether a particular vehicle remains unrepaired.
  • Use NHTSA's VIN lookup or the manufacturer for vehicle-specific recall status and remedy scheduling.

Common questions

What to know about this lookup

Does no returned campaign mean my vehicle has no open recall?

No. Confirm with the official VIN lookup. Model naming differences and vehicle-specific completion status are not resolved by this model-level search.

Are consumer complaints included?

No. Complaints are reports, not recall campaigns, and are intentionally kept separate from this tool.
